We believe that Northwestern Energy should establish time-specific goals to phase out fossil fuel generation and replace it with renewable resources. Northwestern Energy’s Long Term Energy Supply Plan: Will it Include Renewables?
solar wind ViZn websiteFrom ViZn websiteA recent energy supply forum hosted by NorthWestern Energy highlighted developments in renewable electric generation sources. The utility is currently planning its long-term energy resources. There have been significant advancements lowering the cost of wind and solar and increasing energy storage from renewables. Will Montana’s Public Service Commission require NorthWestern to increase its currently meager commitment to solar and wind? Technological progress is evidence that it can and must. Montanans will have opportunities to weigh in on the utility’s long term planning process.

The north end of Anaconda Street in Milltown will be temporarily closed to public parking and pedestrian access will be limited beginning Monday, Aug. 7, as construction work on the gateway area of Milltown State Park begins. Vehicular access on the north side of Anaconda Street leading to the pedestrian bridge, also known as the Black Bridge, will be closed for the duration of the construction, which is expected to continue through mid-September. The road will be signed and blocked by jersey barriers.

Pedestrians and cyclists are encouraged to cross the nearby Highway 200 bridge.
