Dr. Steve Running speaks on the science of climate change on Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m., Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Bonner. Dr. Running is a UM professor and member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for research on the science of climate change.

The free public presentation considers the evidence supporting the conclusion that man's activities are the root cause of the accelerating trend in climate change including weather and important features of our planet.

Dr. Running will also briefly consider human activities in our region and their relationship to climate change: Biomass utilization; tar sands oil extraction.
